FAQs

Call or visit The Club to schedule an admission assessment visit. You will be asked to provide some preliminary information about your family member. At that time you will be either offered an admission assessment appointment or your family member's name will be placed on a waiting list and you will be contacted as soon as possible. At the time of your appointment you will bring your family member to The Club. He/she will meet people and participate in activities while you meet with The Club Director to discuss health history and individual needs. You will also learn about The Club, review cost of the program, days desired, transportation needs, etc. Usually you and your family member are invited to stay for lunch so that you both have the chance to try the food and meet team members and other Club members. There is a $25 application fee and a one month's deposit based on the number of days you plan to attend.

The Club is licensed through the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (Number 87).The Club belongs to the Nebraska Adult Day Services Association (NEADSA) and the National ADS Association (NADSA)

The Club has at least one staff member for every six participants.

Fees are based on a daily sliding fee scale which is based on the number of days a member attends per week. Typical fees range between $30 to $60 a day. Some clients may qualify for Medicaid benefits or VA benefits for Adult Day Health Care services.

Some Long Term Care Insurance policies do cover Adult Day Health Care services. Check your policy to be certain. Often there is a co-pay or required amount of money that must be spent out of pocket before the Long Term Care Insurance begins paying.

My family member never was a "joiner". How will I get him/her to attend? What do I do when my loved one says they are just fine at home alone and don't need day care?

Even if your family member was never a "joiner" rest assured that a majority of the clients not only adjust to a daily routine but also benefit from the stimulation and socialization opportunities provided by The Club. We highly encourage not only families, but also potential members to come in and tour our facility. We even offer a free half day coupon so that a person can come and see what The Club is all about. They will soon realize that it is not a "day care" as some people may think, but a place for older adults to come together and share common experiences while making new friends and memories.

We do provide full and half day drop-in respite care. Attendance is decided by you based on your needs, your family member's needs, and the availability of space at The Club. Often persons with dementia benefit from the structure and consistency of attending and adult day program 5 days per week.

We welcome informal visits at any time. To ensure your questions are answered we do encourage you to schedule an appointment with our Senior Living consultant.

The Club is located at Mable Rose Estates. Mable Rose Estates has a full-time registered nurse and Certified Med Assistant who administer medications per physician's orders. Medications to be administered at The Club must be provided by the family in a pharmacy labeled container. The nurse also monitors the participants' health status on an ongoing basis with quarterly health assessments.

There are several support groups available. You are welcome to attend a support group even if you do not have a family member enrolled in The Club. Please contact the The Club for more information.

The activities at The Club are designed to provide recreation activities to individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. A variety of techniques are used, including arts and crafts, animals, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and field trip outings to maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the participants.

The activities are selected to help reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover/maintain basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively in order to promote greater independence, and prevent further disability. In The Club the recreational therapists use leisure activities-especially structured group programs-to improve and maintain the participant's general health and well-being.

Activities are selected based on the abilities and interests of the participants attending the center and they provide a variety of activities that ensure a balance between exercise, rest, mental stimulation, creativity, and fun. In addition, the Recreation Therapists hire outside entertainers and plan seasonal field trips for the participants. The Club also plans parties and special events throughout the year.
