| Camp Discovery |

During the summer months a full day camp program is available to children who have completed kindergarten through 12 years of age. The campers go on a variety of exciting and educational field trips, have the opportunity to interact with the residents of Hillcrest Health Plaza, go swimming at local pools, and work on long term projects. Small group size and input by the Camp Discovery children about things they want to do are unique aspects of this exciting program. The campers participate in intergenerational activities with the residents on a daily basis throughout the summer, including gardening, enjoying an outing together or sharing stories and experiences. Lasting friendships are formed between the campers and residents of Hillcrest Health Plaza. Each camper Adopts-A-Grandparent for the summer and spends time with that special individual daily. It is inspiring to see the compassion, caring and understanding enjoyed by these two generations. |
